What personal data we collect and why we collect it
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
If you complete and submit our Volunteer Sign up form, you will automatically be added to our mailchimp database. We use a double opt in process which requires you to confirm your acceptance via an email that is sent after the form has been submitted. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in the footer of the email.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
We use Google Analytics tracking to help us improve our website.
We use Google reCAPTCHA to make sure interaction with our website is with a human, to protect against machine input.
Who we share your data with
We will only use the data which we collect about you lawfully in accordance with the Privacy Act 1993.
Personal information gathered is kept in confidence. Only Tauranga Women’s Refuge personnel and representatives are authorised to access personal information.
Donors can request to remain anonymous and not have their name and amount of gift made public.
